Bayview Inn

The food was cold and undercooked, and our orders were wrong. We asked for cheese on the potatoes but never got it, then the cook argued with us and tried to charge for it. A friend ordered a cup of orange juice and got only a shot glass full. When we asked for ketchup, it came in a little McDonald-like container and was slammed onto the table. The woman cooking was extremely rude, and it took a long time for anyone to take our order. Even then, they kept coming back to double-check details. The menu is very limited, portions were tiny, and there was a smell of natural gas throughout the building. We went for breakfast this morning and were still upset two hours later. I never write reviews, but the rude service pushed me to. This is under new management and left us with a terrible experience. They’ve lost six customers, and I predict they’ll close soon. If you want a good dining experience, don’t go to the Bayview Inn Restaurant, which I believe they’re calling Mutti's Place. I’d give less than one star if I could.

We stayed in room #5 and had a wonderful visit, though the restaurant is currently closed. The room was simple and spotless, with two queen beds, a new microwave and fridge, and very fresh-smelling towels. The manager waited up for us after we called, left complimentary bottled water in the fridge, and even waved as we drove off. We won't forget this place.

The owners made us feel welcome, and the home-cooked meals at the in-house restaurant were great both times we ate there. We booked two nights at the Bayview Inn for a last-minute ice fishing weekend on the Bay of Quinte. The room was basic but clean and comfortable, and the price was well below what I expected. I'd definitely stay again.

We both picked dishes from the two pages of customer menu suggestions and were very pleased. The home cooking was good, and if I lived nearby, they'd know me by my first name.
