The pool and slide were great, and the shallow water worked well for younger kids. It was also handy having so many amenities right outside the hotel, plus a nice outlet for a walk. Our room was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the AC did the job even for my picky husband.

We picked this hotel because it was near a friend's place in the NW, and the location worked out really well. Northgate Mall is right nearby with plenty of food choices. It was also about 25 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from downtown, and 20 minutes from Sherwood Park. Breakfast and parking were free. The buffet was the usual hotel spread, with a few hot items. The beds were comfortable and the temperature controls worked well. The rooms were somewhere between average and good, though there was quite a bit of dust in overlooked spots, and the bathroom corners needed better cleaning. My main frustration was a hotel team making noise at night. I complained the first night and was asked to be patient while they got their coach to quiet them down, but that didn't really help. I complained again the following day and was offered a room move. I also asked about a complimentary night, and the manager agreed to both. The rooms need more attention, which is why I can't give it five stars.

Harry at the front desk made this stay memorable. He's passionate about his work and about keeping hotel guests safe, and I feel lucky I got to spend time with him. Such a kind person and an incredible employee. I'll absolutely come back for another chance to experience his warmth and personality. Thank you, Harry!

The waffles were a real highlight at breakfast, and the staff serving there were friendly and helpful. The sausages, though, were sitting in a lot of oil, and the coffee wasn't great. A little more attention to food quality would help. The pool was usable, but the chlorine seemed quite strong, something families with kids or people sensitive to chemicals may want to keep in mind. Service was welcoming throughout, from the courteous front desk staff to the breakfast team. Our room was clean and well kept, as were the common areas. Nothing fancy, just a dependable, practical stay at a Fairfield in north Edmonton, especially for a short visit. Overall, we had a positive time here.
