Hilton Garden Inn West Edmonton

The pool was just okay, and the hot tub was barely warm, more lukewarm than hot. The restaurant was decent, but the food was mostly disappointing: my salmon was overcooked and rubbery, and the whole dish was bland even for someone like me who prefers milder food. The pastas were decent. We also had just three towels despite booking for our family of four, so we had to call the desk, and the pillows were so flat we each needed two to get moderately comfortable. The worst part was finding a bed bug crawling across the bed as we were leaving. We checked both beds and found flip flops from a previous guest, half eaten pepperoni sticks, and rotten food under them. I’ll have that nasty ICK feeling until I know we didn’t bring bugs home. There were too many problems, and I definitely wouldn’t stay again.

The staff are friendly and helpful, but the rooms already feel dated, especially at these higher prices. There are newer hotels nearby with more updated rooms for less. A lot here looks old and needs replacing, so it’s time for a renovation.

Rowena made breakfast such a nice experience for us. She was kind and patient with our kids, kept the coffee coming, and checked on us at just the right moments. She also made sure our food arrived the way we’d asked. Her warm smile was a lovely welcome.

We’ve booked conference rooms here several times, including at the last minute, and the team has always been great to work with. They’re friendly and accommodating, the booking process is easy, and the facilities are nice and set up perfectly.
