Royal Lodge

I've stayed here on and off for three years. There have been few noticeable updates; I've seen them replace a commercial washing machine twice. Most beds tilt toward the headboard. Internet activity is monitored, and my laptop was switched to airplane mode several times. Watch for a Co-op taxi cruising the parking lot, as there seems to be some kind of relationship between the driver and the owners. Male chambermaids will open your room door before 11 am. I didn't find the place LGBT friendly.

Stains on the sheets and furniture, and not a single positive thing I can point to. I refuse to believe any review above two stars is real. This place is vile. If you're staying here, bring your own bedding, or maybe a hazmat suit. Even at $10 a night, it would be too expensive. The owners should be ashamed.

The staff at Royal Lodge were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I had a pleasant one-night stay, with great value for the price and a convenient Edmonton location.

The receptionist was helpful, and the location across from Walmart and near downtown is convenient. That was about the only good part. The rooms were old, dirty, and poorly maintained, and the AC didn't work properly. Too many sketchy people were hanging around, so I felt unsafe and kept checking on my truck. Overall, I'd avoid this place. There are cleaner and safer options nearby for the same price.
