Travelodge Edmonton East

We picked this hotel for the Morgan Wallen concert because it was only 11 minutes from the stadium. Check-in staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the little air conditioner kept it cool. I was wary of the area because some “drifters” hung around the parking lot, but we had no problems. Staff assured us it was safe and advised us not to leave anything valuable in the car. It’s a good value if you want to be near amenities. There’s also a buffet we missed, though it smelled fantastic when we came through the door.

This was my worst stay. The room didn’t match the description, and there was no microwave even though the booking said there would be. We had to go to the front desk for toilet paper because only a quarter roll was provided. It was very noisy, and there were lots of homeless people outside. The worst part was the cockroaches, and I took photos as proof. Housekeeping didn’t bring clean towels on the second day, and the shampoo and conditioner bottles had already been used. I’ll never stay here again or recommend it.

We left a day early because I couldn’t stand staying there. The pool and hot tub were dirty, with hair and bugs in them, and breakfast was impossible to get in the tiny, confined room. Customer service was poor, and maintenance never came to fix the door’s card swipe. The place is poorly managed and the staff don’t care. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The online photos don’t show what the rooms actually look like, and the amenities were misrepresented. The building is run down, and while the lobby looks cared for, the rest of the hotel is disgusting. In one of our two double-bed rooms on the smoking floor, we pulled the beds away from the wall and found drink splatter on it, plus spilled drinks on a floor that looked like it hadn’t been mopped in a very long time. There was no microwave. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel; it might be worth $40 or $50 a night, but definitely not over $100.
