The lake location was good, and the bed was comfortable, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The cabin was clean, though it felt bare and had very little equipment. There’s no hair dryer, the utensils are sparse, and we could find only one dinner knife. Seating is a problem too: just one futon and one chair for a place listed for six. The futon was so uncomfortable that even sitting on it was hard, which made relaxing with the limited TV channels difficult. The toilet kept making noise day and night, so sleep wasn’t great either. For this price, there are other local Airbnbs that feel more welcoming and are better equipped.

We were five friends looking forward to visiting Regina, since it’s the nearest major city to Winnipeg and none of us had been to that province before. Our booking was declined, and we weren’t given a real explanation beyond the host being “unable to accommodate.” That was disappointing and confusing, especially because Airbnb still showed two cabins available at the time.

These cabins worked really well for our family reunion at the Fort, especially for anyone who doesn’t want to tow a camper all that way or stay in town away from everything. The host got back to us quickly when we accidentally locked the key inside. Sharing just one key was awkward, though. We tried keeping it in the lockbox and sharing the code, but someone still managed to lock it in the house. Two keys or a coded door would help. The kitchen had what we needed, but there wasn’t enough cupboard space for both food and supplies. It also seemed odd that only one bedroom had an air conditioner when the rooms were the same, with no master bedroom. The binder looked like a partly customized host template, with lots of prompts to add local businesses. It did spell out many checkout cleaning tasks, but those hadn’t been made clear during booking or check-in. The person who booked was about to leave without doing them, not knowing it was required. We caught it before the deposit was lost.

The layout made it easy to fix breakfast or a late snack without waking anyone still in bed, and packing food and clothes was all we needed. It’s a lot easier than hauling a trailer, which we did for years. The beach is nearby, and town is just a short trip for essentials. We’d happily come back.

We had a nice, relaxing stay as a family of four for two nights. The weather was cool, so we couldn’t make use of the beach. The cabin was clean and matched the photos, and the bedroom ceiling fans were a nice touch. The beds were comfortable, but the futon was hard to sit on for long without getting numb, and really ought to be replaced with a proper hide-a-bed couch. The cookware was also worn out. Noel answered our questions quickly.
