Sunnylea Resort

The location alone makes the price worthwhile, and Karen was only a phone call away whenever we needed something. We enjoyed paddle boating and kayaking, both included in the price. We visited Sunnylea resort over the long weekend as a larger group. From booking to our stay and checkout, everything was a very pleasant experience. The cabins were well maintained and well equipped. It was a mini vacation well spent, thank you.

Karen was friendly and helpful when we booked. We liked the cabin renovations, including the beds, flooring, and windows, while it still kept its cozy, rustic feel. Sunnylea is close to amenities but feels remote enough to enjoy the wildlife right by the lake. A nice getaway, thanks.

We had a great weekend at a real, authentic cottage, just don’t come expecting fancy. The rooms had a shared kitchen and outdoor sitting area. We could use kayaks, a canoe, paddle boats, and paddle boards. The pool wasn’t open yet, but it was the first weekend of summer. There was also a horseshoe pit, badminton, and a sand volleyball net. There’s lots to see around the area, and the fishermen were thrilled, catching pike on the lake. I took two pictures of what I saw.

We had a good time here, and the kids spent all day swimming in the pool. Canoeing and kayaking were enjoyable too. The rooms feel old and need renovating, and deep cleaning needs more attention. Our sheets and pillow covers had a strange smell, which made it seem like they might not be washed after each guest. For the price, they should take hygiene and cleanliness more seriously. There was no lighting outside at night, so it was uncomfortable to spend the evening out there and we had to use our phone flashlights. I’d suggest the team improve these services, especially the cleaning, since people really care about that.
