Baymont by Wyndham Gold River

I came to Gold River for a work meeting and had a smooth, enjoyable stay. The building is beautiful, my room was comfortable and very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

The views were spectacular, and if I'm back on Vancouver Island, I'd happily stay here again. I was especially impressed by the breakfast: you can make fresh Belgian waffles from prepared batter, with syrup, whipped cream and berry compote, plus breads and bagels, including gluten-free options, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and cereal. It was much better than the free hotel breakfasts I've usually had. The whole hotel was spotless, smelled clean and had cute decor. My room was comfortable, with good TV channels and free wifi. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and I appreciated that it was pet friendly. They also had complimentary razors and toothbrushes for anyone who forgot theirs. The full-sized shampoo and conditioner bottles were a big plus for my very long, thick hair, since the tiny hotel bottles don't go far. And they use nice tissue and toilet paper instead of that awful one-ply stuff. I had a great experience.

The breakfast was good, and the staff in the bright breakfast room were really friendly. I liked the room's cool decor, too. When we arrived, the front desk staff greeted us politely. Our room was bright and very clean, the beds were comfortable, and I loved the bathtub. Everyone we met was friendly and professional. We'll be back.

That incredible view was a highlight, especially first thing in the morning. I spent two nights here and had a wonderful stay. The room was spotless, comfortable and well cared for, and the staff were genuinely welcoming and friendly. I'd definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back.
