The building is quite old and has a distinctive look, so don’t let the outside put you off. I stayed a couple of nights and found the hotel clean. A few small repairs would help: the bathroom caulking was moldy, the sink aerator leaked, and the old shower curtain should be replaced. There were dead bugs in the ceiling lights too. Breakfast was limited, though that’s not too surprising in a small town. The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant food I ordered one night was good. I’d stay again if work brings me back this way.

The food was great, and there was plenty of it. I haven’t used the rooms.

The room had a quirky mix of furniture and style, but it was clean and the bed was really comfortable. I slept well both nights I was there because it was so quiet. The owner was very pleasant, even though her English wasn’t very fluent. Breakfast was basic, just cold cereal, toast, and coffee, but that suited me. The price was excellent. I’d come back if I needed a place to stay.

A lovely place, with beautiful architecture, huge rooms, and welcoming, gracious hosts. They had a complimentary breakfast in the morning with toast, cereal, and some fruit. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking of staying here.

I’ve only eaten at the restaurant, so I haven’t seen the rooms, but the dining room is clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. The food is inexpensive, hot, and tasty. The couple running the place are hardworking and welcoming, and I wish they had more business. They seem to get plenty of evening takeout orders. The menu has the usual Chinese and Western Canadian dishes.
