Kow's Inn

We found The Bras dor View restaurant at Kows Inn while traveling in Cape Britain toward the Newfoundland Ferry. It was only a 2 minute walk from the Arm of gold trailer park where we were staying, and we hit the jackpot. Everything was clean and the pride of ownership was obvious. The gifted Chef clearly cares, with great recipes and quality ingredients. The owner Kim made us feel welcome and served us delicious meals. The seafood chowder was one of the best I’ve had in the maratimes, so you owe it to yourself to try it. We’ll definitely be back next year.

I only ate at the restaurant, I didn't stay at the property. The Chinese food was the worst I think I’ve ever had. It was overpriced and not tasty. The general tao chicken was grizzly, with bad flavor, and I couldn’t eat it. The Canadian dish I ordered was just as bad.

I booked a one-night stay at Kow’s inn ahead of time, then got a call from the previous owner saying they thought something was wrong with their booking system because they’d received my booking information. That felt like a breach of my privacy. When I called the owner, they were rude and wouldn’t even let me ask about booking another day. I asked how to get a refund and they screamed at me to check with expedia. It was a poor service experience, especially compared with what I’m used to in Cape breton.

We enjoyed our two-night stay very much. The staff were great, the room was very large and clean, and the water view was lovely. It was also very quiet at night. We didn’t get to try the restaurant because it was closed the night we planned to have dinner there, but I’m sure the same care and attention goes into the food. I’d recommend it for lodging in the Cabot Trail/North Sydney area.
