Sandman Hotel Hamilton

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I liked having a full kitchen so I could cook for myself. An oven would have been useful, though. My issue was that the full cost of my 11-night stay was charged to my credit card on the first day. I’d booked ahead for February 16 to 26 inclusive while working locally, and I’ve never had a hotel charge me that way before. Most charge at checkout. I’ll be contacting the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU about it.

The hotel has a modern, renovated feel, and even the lobby is nicely decorated. I also felt safer knowing security was present at night. My room was spotless and very comfortable, especially the mattress, which felt just like mine at home and helped me sleep wonderfully. Check-in was easy, and the staff I met were all welcoming and friendly. I’d happily stay at a Sandman Hotel on a future trip.

For a little over four months, this place became a home away from home while I was in the area with a broken leg. I’d never known the Sandman hotel before, but from the first day to the last, the care from everyone was better than I’ve had at five-star hotels in North America and Europe. Staff from every level would check if I needed anything, and it was clear they were happy at work. I often saw employees in the GM’s office, and his door was always open. The front desk team were consistently helpful, their manager was outstanding, and I also dealt with maintenance and housekeeping, including another great manager. Some maintenance calls were my fault. The hotel was a little dated, though they were replacing carpets and furniture while I was there. They truly couldn’t do enough for me. Thanks, guys. What I expected to be a terrible experience turned into a pleasant adventure, and I felt like part of the family. I’d recommend staying here without hesitation.

Ethan greeted us at the front desk and was friendly and polite. He took care to answer all our questions. My wife and I found the room clean and had an excellent stay at the Sandman Stoney Creek Hotel. We’d recommend it.
