We stayed in the multifamily guest house, with a fence around it so the kids could play safely while the semi-wild horses roamed the property. The views were amazing. There are several routes to get there, and each was worth the drive. One stretch had us behind a cattle drive for about 15km, which was quite an experience. I'd recommend the place.

The lodge was well stocked, and even on short notice the chef made us a delicious cake. We felt right at home visiting with family and friends. Big Bar Guest Ranch is peaceful and remote, but still welcoming, and it was easy on the budget. It's also kid-friendly and dog-friendly. A special place for a relaxing break in nature, and one we'd happily recommend.

I had a lot of fun riding during my four days at the ranch. Jenna, the manager and my guide, explained a lot about the landscape, and the horses were very well ridden and treated well. The staff were super nice and helpful. My room was simple but functional. Since the restaurant was still closed, I cooked for myself, and they brought me a hot plate and pots.

The setting, privacy, scenery, and horses and other animals on the property all made a big impression on our guests. We held our wedding here in 2014 and had an epic weekend that we all thoroughly enjoyed.

We stayed from Friday, Sept 30, until Oct 2 for a wedding and enjoyed every minute. Everyone at Big bar Guest ranch helped make it a great success. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the owners were kind. There was loads of amazing food. If you're getting married there, have them make the cake. It was amazing.
