Recreation Inn & Suites

A hidden gem. The hotel is older and doesn't have much street appeal, but the inside is what counts. The rooms are quite nice, large, and well appointed, with a full kitchen and full-size fridge. They were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Even though it's one block from busy Harvey Ave, it was quiet. Ground-floor rooms are easy to access from the parking area, while the second floor has external stairs.

The only real drawbacks for me were the stairs to the second floor, which I hadn't known about and were difficult with my mobility problem, and the pickle ball courts across the street. The noise from the courts was annoying from morning to night. Otherwise, it was well worth staying. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were great, and the clean rooms and beds were very comfortable.

For one night, it was a simple, okay place to stay. The room was clean and had what we needed, and the person who checked us in was really friendly. Parking was the main hassle: there weren't enough spaces, so we had to park on the street. Breakfast was basic and not something to rely on. The boiled eggs were overcooked, and the rest was bread, muffins, and little single-serve packs of jam, honey, and cheese. Fine for a short stay, but don't expect much beyond that.

We're happy with the motel overall. The room was clean, the service was excellent, and the street it's on was quiet. The air conditioner noise was the one problem, though. It was so intolerable that we had to turn it off last night. That's our two cents. Thanks!
