Motel le Pocatois

I was only there one night for work, and I can't recommend it at $120 a night. For me, this is more like a $60-a-night low-end motel. Don't expect luxury or working appliances. The AC didn't work, and my room was on the second floor. The bathroom was pitch black because none of its lights worked. The fire alarm was dismounted from the ceiling, which seems like a serious safety issue. The room smelled as if a man had just showered, and I could still smell that morning's occupant. They didn't tell me in advance that the rooms have a shared connecting door. It was locked, but as a young woman travelling alone I didn't feel safe, and I would have liked to know beforehand. I expect things to be outdated at these prices, but these problems were too much. I don't usually leave a bad review unless it's really deserved.

We had car trouble on the way home from a family trip out east and were left without a vehicle or a home to go to. The service team at Motel Le Pocatois went above and beyond to help us, and were flexible and accommodating. Great service and value. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Even the stairway to ours smelled clean, lol. The restaurant attached to the hotel served some of the best food we've ever had. The pizza and seafood casserole were ridiculously good. The rooms were large and clean, but very dated, with an 80's style. We had a jacuzzi tub and couldn't use it because there was no hot water. The next morning, there still wasn't hot water for a shower. Maybe that's normal in Quebec, but I like a hot shower.

For a one-night stay and a short rest, everything was fine. The room was very clean and the bathroom was fantastic. The bed could've been more comfortable, but it was tolerable.
