Colonial Hotel & Suites

We rented the cabin and had a great time. It was clean, spacious, quiet, and had lots included. There’s plenty of parking too, we had five full-size trucks and still had room. The staff were very helpful, and the nice atmosphere and closeness to downtown came without feeling cramped. Well done.

The one real drawback was how easily sound traveled through the hotel walls. We could hear noise clearly, which made a good night’s sleep difficult. Still, we loved our stay at the Colonial. The rooms were clean, spacious, and modern, and the grounds were beautiful. There were lots of places to sit in the courtyards at night and look at the stars. The pool area was gorgeous and inviting, with a lovely cabana bar that made it feel tropical.

I spent New Year’s Eve at the Colonial Hotel in Grand Bend and would gladly stay again. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, just right for a relaxing getaway. I booked one with a Jacuzzi, and it was absolutely great. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my visit. It was a perfect stay!

The renovation at the Colonial was really well done. We liked the many outdoor seating spots and enjoyed the bonfire pits, and the location right on the strip is great. It was cool to see the old hotel updated. But for the price, we probably won’t return, especially with the pool closed and such a tiny room. We’d chosen it for our anniversary because the website said the heated outdoor pool stayed open through October, weather permitting. On October 20, it was an unusually warm, sunny 28 Celsius day, but we were told the clean, beautiful-looking pool wasn’t open. The front desk had no explanation and said they’d ask the manager, but we never heard back. We also messaged on social media and got no reply. They should update the website and check their messages more often. Our “Superior Queen” courtyard room was probably the smallest hotel room we’ve had, and the bed was a double, not a queen. The website should be corrected so it isn’t misleading.
