Sage Inn Merritt BC

I got a great night's sleep on my way back to Vancouver after two weeks in Canada, probably the best of the trip. The bed was really comfortable and it was quiet all night, which was just what I needed. There are plenty of places to eat within a 5-10 minute walk.

Ericka was a big help when I booked directly by phone. It's nice speaking with someone who knows the property, and when I pulled up on my motorcycle she even recognized my name. As a rider, I appreciated that she picked a ground-floor room for me. The room was very nice, and the pool felt great after a hot ride. There’s also a good restaurant on site. Thanks for a lovely stay!

For the price, the room was decent. We had two beds, a kitchenette, a TV, and a fridge. The bathroom felt a bit small but cozy, with warm water and good pressure. It could have been cleaner, though the value was good. Thanks for having us.

The motel's location was the one clear plus for me. We stayed in the family suite, where the bathroom fan made a loud grinding sound. There was hair on the carpet at check-in, and a shampoo bottle had already been partly used. A half-empty sample lotion bottle sat on the desk beside the tissues. The window looked out only onto the roof of the home restaurant. The hot tub was out of order, and the pool seemed much smaller than the Booking.com photo suggested, which was taken from far away and didn't show the depth numbers. There was no pool schedule in the listing either, so I had little time to use it, if I wanted to. A $200 deposit for a dirty room with fewer amenities than promised felt ridiculous. Most city hotels ask for $100 or $150, and have proper lobbies and hallways, breakfast included, and good TVs.
