Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Mississauga/Meadowvale

My vehicle was stolen from the hotel property while parked just a few feet from the main entrance. Management told me the camera covering that entrance wasn't working. There didn't appear to be visible or effective security monitoring either. The staff and management offered no support to me or the police officer investigating the theft, and I was met with apathy and denial of responsibility. This happened at Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Mississauga/Meadowvale, 7015 Century Avenue, Mississauga, ON, L5N 7K2. A weekend that should've been relaxing turned into an expensive, exhausting ordeal. The stay cost upwards of $300, and I spent another $200+ on Ubers and taxis dealing with police reports and the administrative mess. Losing my vehicle was emotionally stressful, and feeling abandoned by the hotel made it worse. I see this as a serious failure to secure the property and help a guest after a crime. I won't return, and I'd strongly advise travelers who care about their vehicle's security and their peace of mind to look elsewhere. The lack of camera maintenance and cooperation with a crime victim and law enforcement doesn't fit the Marriott name.

Several vehicles have reportedly been stolen from this property, and the CCTV cameras were apparently not working. Management says you're staying at your own risk and won't take responsibility for vehicles on the lot. If they can't take responsibility for that, I doubt there's security inside either. Could they be complicit in the crime? You have to ask. Don't stay here, it's totally unsecured.

The breakfast setup was unusual. There was no buffet, just one menu item to choose from, and after ordering I had to pick up a board with my table number and carry it to the table. I've never seen that in a star-rated hotel. Parking was plentiful but in an open lot, which could be a concern for some in winter. The AC unit also stuck out into the room and hurt the look of the space. My room was spacious and neat, which was a plus, but the place lacked the premium feel I'd expect at this level. Compared with other 3-star hotels I've stayed in, the Marriott is close, though it still has room to improve. It's a comfortable enough option with realistic expectations, but not a standout.

The room was clean and tidy, with a simple modern look I liked. The bed was soft and comfortable, and I felt safe there. Breakfast wasn't a free buffet, so we had to pay separately, but it was delicious :)
