Holiday Inn Express and Suites Tremblant by IHG

The quick, easy check-in and good location were positives, and the staff were okay, though I’ve had warmer service elsewhere. I would have appreciated more guidance on local activities, recommendations, and how to make the most of a stay around Mont Tremblant. I booked a two-bedroom suite and expected better room quality and finish. It was fine, but didn’t feel as comfortable or well appointed as it should for that type of room. Bathroom supplies were limited, with no toothbrushes or other basic extras. I also got no response to requests I sent through the official website during booking, which was disappointing from the start. Breakfast was below average and poorly organized, more motel style than hotel breakfast, and the setup could be managed better. Parking is available for around $29 per day extra. The pool wasn’t in service during my stay, which was disappointing, especially for guests expecting to use it. It does the job for a short stay, but those expecting a step up in comfort, amenities, and service from a suite may find it lacking.

Breakfast was okay, with lots of options. We did end up with the one-bedroom room, so our sons had to sleep on the pull-out couch and in our room. Check-in was frustrating. We called three times ahead of time about upgrading to a two-bedroom room with a kitchen. They told us not to upgrade when we called because it would be available when we arrived, then asked us to call first thing in the morning as we started traveling. That morning, we were told they were sold out and couldn’t upgrade us. We had called three weeks ahead and were told to wait.

The location gets 5/5, and otherwise it’s a pretty average hotel. The elevators are the main problem: there are only two, both very old and slow, and one was closed for maintenance. It made getting our bags from the parking area to the room very difficult. The doorways are narrow and don’t open automatically.

The location was perfect, the breakfast buffet was good, and service from staff was very good. We stayed two nights, and the suite was clean and fine, but the walls were so thin we could hear everything from other rooms. The rooms could use updating. The queen bed had inadequate bedding, with a comforter that must have been double size. The elevators were small and incredibly slow, and only one was working.
