Two weeks before our July trip, the owner called and asked whether we'd switch from the two-bedroom, two-bath unit we'd booked to a one-bedroom, one-bath unit, since we were two adults and one child. I said no, and they said they'd make some calls to see if we could still get what we reserved. The next day, the full payment for the larger unit went through. But when we arrived, we were given a one-bedroom, one-bath unit with a pull-out double bed in the living area. I spent 1.5 hours with Booking trying to sort it out. I hope they update the listing, which still describes two rooms with two beds. During that call, they refused to refund us or provide the two-bedroom, two-bath unit we'd wanted and paid for. The owner later called and said he changed it because my profile showed two adults and one child. I believe I can book any size property for any number of people, as long as I'm willing to pay the stated price and stay within the guest limit. He claimed he'd texted and called me, but that was a lie, easily verified through our service providers. He also tried to blame Booking, which I thought was a low blow. There are no photos or specifications for a one-bedroom, one-bath unit. All the unit photos showed only the two-bedroom, two-bath setup. When I got the first call at the end of August, I noticed the price for a two-bedroom, two-bath unit had gone up by almost $200. It looked to me like they got greedy. And I still wonder about the paint roller in the refrigerator and the mattress with some linen stuffed into a bag.
