Suites du Lac Moore by Manitonga

I booked through Booking.com and didn’t realize the king room had no separate living area. It’s so cramped that two people can barely move around or sit comfortably. When I mentioned it to the receptionist, she just said, “it’s the size of a hotel room.” I’ve traveled quite a bit, and if it were the size of a normal hotel room, I’d be fine, but it definitely isn’t. I’m discouraged, though I’ll try to make the best of the weekend.

We paid for the most expensive option, a suite, and they’re all on the ground floor. It feels unfair to pay extra and spend the stay hearing people walk overhead. The main problem was the noise. A baby next door woke up crying every three hours, and from 3:00 to 6:00 a.m. the crying was constant and very loud. We got about four hours of sleep. Noise from the hallway carries into the room too, even when someone opens a door downstairs, so we had a very poor night. We stayed two nights and the room wasn’t cleaned either day. We expected at least one cleaning during our stay, which was disappointing. The place otherwise seemed recently renovated and well maintained. Maybe you get lucky with a top floor room and no one around.

A beautiful, very clean and comfortable place. We stayed in a three bedroom townhouse, with towels, dishes, and other essentials provided. There was even a barbecue on the deck, and the lake was just a two minute walk away.

They were happy to move us to an upgraded room when we asked, and the service was amazing :) Everything was very clean, and we were close to the village and restaurants. We had a perfect stay and will definitely come back in the summer!
