Billie’s BnB has been a wonderful stay every time we’ve visited over the past several years. The rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable, and Billie is lovely to deal with. Its location right by Parc La Fontaine is ideal.

I travel often for work and know what I expect from proper accommodations. I mean this without bias or exaggeration: I believe I should get my money back. There was no peace of mind during our stay, no housekeeping, and no fresh towels were brought back for two adults on the second day. There weren’t even napkins or a basic clock in the room. A $10 clock from Walmart would have been easy to provide. This was not remotely a hotel. It felt like an Airbnb in an old residential building in the style of Old Montreal, perhaps renovated and cleaned, and I don’t understand how it got a hotel designation. Calling it a four-star hotel is a huge stretch, especially in a major tourist destination. You can’t expect normal hotel services like housekeeping, helpful staff, a reception desk, emergency support, or even quiet. The unit had three rooms, a kitchen, laundry area, small dining room, and sitting area. My Room 5 was next to the laundry room, and another guest seemed to treat the place like a dorm and was doing laundry constantly. "Sir, I came here for peace of mind, I don’t want conflict" There’s no way the basics were acceptable, and a refund would be fair.

The location by a large park was lovely, but the nearest bakery or café was a 10-15 minute walk. The room itself was clean and fairly quiet, though the fixtures were quite worn. The air conditioning barely worked and the Wi-Fi was unreliable. Getting into both the building and room meant entering a long string of numbers on a keypad instead of using a key card, and managing the stairs with luggage was dicey. Google calls this a four-star hotel, and I can’t see how. I’d say one or perhaps two stars at best.

Room 3 was in a quiet spot, had a comfortable bed, and was equipped well enough. The bathroom looked worn and needs some care, including repairs to the shower and flickering lights. The common room was fine for the essentials, though drinking glasses would have been useful. Breakfast was very basic: cereal, apples, and hot drinks. We never met the owner, but they replied to emails quickly. The place felt tired and simple, but the price was good, so we had a positive experience. Thanks for the stay.
