I’d been ready to give this place 8/10 as a budget hotel, but paying a premium rate changed my mind. In that price bracket, it doesn’t deserve more than 3/10. The room itself was decent, with clean sheets and hot water. Wi-Fi worked well and there were no bedbugs. The desk was useful for work, though the chair sat at a different height and I needed pillows to make it usable. Even in October, the room was uncomfortably hot. The fan was noisy and barely helped, so I slept without sheets. The hallway carpet smelled foul, as if it had never been cleaned, though luckily the odor stopped at the room door. At night the neighborhood felt unsafe, and the front door didn’t need a key card, so it seemed anyone could walk in. $200 a night for one room is unreasonable, more than twice the listed rate on Booking/Google that day, 89$. For that price I’d rather stay at the Hilton, Hyatt, or Holiday, all a short walk away. If all you want is a basic roof at an honest, genuinely low rate, Victor, LeLux, and Samesun next door are acceptable options.

It’s near the Berri-UQAM station, which makes the location quite convenient, though the area feels a bit sketchy and the view looks out onto a rundown building. The hotel isn’t fancy and offers just the basics, but it gets them right and is great value. The room was clean, as was the bed, which was comfortable. Staff were nice and friendly, from check-in to breakfast and housekeeping. The continental breakfast is adequate, served in a small room, though you can take things back to your room. The coffee machine is a highlight. It’s slow, but makes delicious coffee.

Kristina and Houssam at reception were especially helpful and kind, and let us leave our luggage for a few hours after checkout. Their hospitality and professionalism made the visit even nicer. Thank you all! We only stayed one night, but were very happy with our choice. The location was excellent, and our room and shared spaces, including the corridors and dining room, were spotless. The dining area was convenient, with coffee machine access around the clock. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable, and the room had plenty of towels and toiletries.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and we had complimentary tea and hot chocolate every day. We didn’t try breakfast. The room size was fine, though the chair was so hard to move that a smaller one would make more sense. There was no air conditioning, and it sometimes got stuffy; the fan in the room was a bit loud. The hotel is close to the subway, but I didn’t feel very safe in the neighborhood. A homeless person was right by the door when we checked in. I also felt uneasy when a neighbor who seemed intoxicated offered to help me open my room. I declined politely and locked the door once inside. I’d recommend it if you want reasonably priced accommodation close to Old Montreal attractions.

It’s close to the Metro and lots of places to eat, and there’s plenty of paid parking across the street. The rooms are small but clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, though they could offer more kinds of tea. Our room was very hot with no air conditioning. The cheap fan was loud enough to make sleeping difficult. It could work for a few nights as a base for exploring the city, but I wouldn’t recommend it in summer. The neighborhood feels a little sketchy.
