Eurostars Old Montreal Suites & Apartments

The only real problem we ran into was the shower. It looked nice, but it was poorly installed: the door slanted and let water leak everywhere. Aside from that, we had a lovely stay at Sonder Apollon. My wife, toddler, and I liked having an apartment-style place instead of a traditional hotel room. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the rooftop wellness facilities were great, and the location was excellent. I’d read mixed things about Sonder before the trip, but it seems to depend on the location. We’ll definitely try other Sonder locations in the future.

I found other lodging after our reservation was unexpectedly canceled, but I keep thinking about the employees whose professionalism and hard work had earned the hotel such high marks. I’m very sorry this happened to them and hope other opportunities open up for them soon. I’ll definitely avoid Marriott in the future. This was the week we would have stayed at Sonder Apollon. I’d researched places to stay, and the positive reviews convinced me to book.

The Air Canada strike made our stay longer than planned, but the staff stayed calm, friendly, and accommodating the whole time. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and I’ll absolutely come back. The apartment and hotel combination worked really well. The clean, modern suites felt luxurious and had everything we needed, including a full kitchen, laundry, and self-serve amenities. The gym was basic but spacious and clean, and the sauna and steam room were great. The hotel is also really well situated.

The app failed right when I was trying to check in, which was a serious problem. Luckily, staff were on-site 24/7. Without them, we would have been stuck, as I’ve seen happen to a few others in reviews. After that, everything ran smoothly, and support through the app was quick and efficient. As a former hotel executive, I was skeptical of the Sonder model, but the Montreal property has convinced me it can be a better way to stay. The rates beat full-service hotels hands down, helped by not operating restaurants, bars, bellboy service, or a concierge. I wouldn’t have used those anyway, with so many good options nearby, and I can carry my own bags and use apps for help. The location is ideal for exploring the Old City, with restaurants, bars, attractions, and museums an easy walk away. Our two-bedroom apartment was stylish and uncluttered. It had spacious bathrooms stocked with quality toiletries, a generous living area, a nicely equipped kitchen, and a desk for working, though we spent little time at it with so much nearby. The gym was small but perfectly serviceable. All told, it was an excellent experience. I’d recommend Sonder Montreal and would try Sonder again in another destination on our next vacation.
