Hotel Le Roberval

The location is fantastic, and breakfast is good and included. We had a suite with a well-equipped kitchen. It isn’t immaculately clean and the furniture isn’t fancy, but the price is very affordable and the service is good for what you pay.

The rooms and amenities were decent, but what stood out was the service and location. Receptionist Saint Claire was incredibly helpful when I arrived early and was having trouble finding my way around Montreal. He made sure I was comfortable and explained everything clearly. Notre Dame Basillica and Via Rail were both close enough to reach easily.

Downtown was convenient, and that’s the only part of the stay I’d give five stars. The room was freezing, the heater didn’t work, and the bathroom was mouldy and barely big enough for one person. The mattress was extremely firm, too. Parking at the hotel is very limited, so we had to leave the car somewhere else. Other guests said their rooms were either too hot or too cold, and some complained about noise that kept them awake. The breakfast room was tiny, the food was poor quality, and the fruit salad was not fresh at all. You can’t enter the hotel on your own when the doors are locked, someone else has to let you in with a keycard. Please don’t stay here.

The room was spotless and had a handy little kitchen with a microwave, toaster, cups, and plates. Breakfast was delicious and offered a nice range of choices. The metro is about a five-minute walk away, and you can walk to Old Town and Old Port as well, so getting around is easy. We had a wonderful stay for a very reasonable price. I’d recommend it to tourists and business travelers.
