The Mercer Boutique Hotel

The front desk staff were polite and friendly, but that didn’t change how poorly the situation was handled. I asked to speak to the owner and was told over three days that I’d get a call. On checkout day, the manager said I’d receive one that day, but nobody called, and I still haven’t heard from them. The unit wasn’t properly cleaned when we arrived. There was blood near the shower and on the toilet seat, a fecal stain in the toilet, pubic hair in the bathroom and shower, food debris on several surfaces, stained rugs and visibly stained blankets. It didn’t feel sanitized. Housekeeping came, but the beds were made without changing the bedding, the towels were still stained and the original problems remained. I have date-stamped photos from both before and after housekeeping. After I posted this review, the property contacted me and offered a one-night refund if I removed it. That raised serious concerns for me about how authentic their reviews are. The condition of the unit and the response fell below acceptable standards for a clean, sanitary stay.

The location is hard to beat, right in the heart of Old Montreal and close to an IGA, which came in handy. On-site parking and the elevator made things easy, and having reception available 24/7 was really convenient. The cleaning staff were wonderful, and the service was amazing, accommodating and always ready to help. I had a comfortable, great stay and would definitely come back.

The apartment was gorgeous, spacious, spotless and had everything we needed. Its location made it easy to explore the city. From the moment we arrived, the whole experience was flawless, and every staff member was professional while still warm and welcoming. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

I accidentally booked this hotel through Expedia, then canceled within minutes. Even after Expedia representatives called to explain, the hotel refused to reimburse me. Looking at some of the lower-rated reviews, it seems clear to me that this place should be avoided at all costs. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
