Super 8 by Wyndham Moosonee

The room temperature worked well, and breakfast was a nice start to the day. The rooms were clean, though ours had a musty smell, probably because it’s so wet up here. The staff were caring, accommodating, and very friendly.

The room was humid and musty, which was our one negative observation, though the room itself was great. It also costs more than other places in the Wyndham chain, but that seemed understandable given the unusual location and the challenges of the environment. My sons and I stayed for two nights this past week. The rooms were clean, and staff responded quickly. Once the manager knew about my diet restrictions, he accommodated them at breakfast on the second day. Housekeeping also brought extra towels and soap when we needed them. I think comments about the motel’s shortcomings should take into account how hard it is to get supplies and inventory to this location, as well as the trust and courtesy we experienced in Moosonee. Kudos to the hard-working staff.

I’m from Toronto, and this was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The service was good, the rooms were clean, and it felt safe. There was coffee in the morning too. Moosonee hotels can be hard to judge, but this was way better than I expected.
