The Rex Motel

Gary was kind and accommodating. He gave us a ride to the tourist area, and we got early check-in and late checkout at no extra cost. When we had to leave a day early, he refunded our money. The room was spotless and the rate very reasonable. A very positive stay, and I'd highly recommend Rex Motel.

From the outside it doesn't look like much, but we had a great-value two-night stay during high season. The rooms and bathroom were clean and well kept, and the rooms had everything we needed. You can hear the neighbors if they aren't quiet, and traffic from the fairly busy street might bother some people. It wasn't an issue for us. We had no contact with staff, who weren't on-site, so I can't comment on the service. We'd stay here again.

It's a nice motel in general, and the room was all right, though small. Check-in and checkout are self-service, and the motel is far from the falls. It's on a main road, so passing cars made it noisy. There's no AC unit in the room, just some kind of central air system that wasn't very good.

A close look at the bed turned up a fossilized roach, bits that seemed to be from a bedbug, and bodily fluid stains. I left and booked somewhere else, and fortunately got a refund. Because of the bedbug risk, I had to quarantine the clothes I was wearing.
