Hotel Cheribourg, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The breakfast buffet was great, with lots of tasty options. It costs 22 dollars per adult and 5.50 for an enfant aged 0-5. Staff were very friendly, and there’s a huge indoor play area and games room for all ages, so it’s clearly a good fit for kids. The indoor pool is small and wasn’t very clean. There’s also a little hot tub inside and one outside. The hotel is quite old and could use renovation.

Good value for a group of friends. It’s near the ski resort, the border and the spa area, and the pool was warm and well maintained.

The flowers and grounds were what made this summer stay special. Hydrangeas, lilies, wild roses and tall lavender lined the paths, and the scent in the morning and around sunset made it feel peaceful, almost like a botanical garden. There’s a quiet lake among the trees nearby, nice for a walk or just taking in the view. Families have plenty for kids to do, too. We only stayed one night, but the room was spotless, simply and cozily decorated, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The outdoor pool has lots of loungers for relaxing in the sun. Staff were very kind when we checked out almost an hour late and didn’t charge us extra. A calm place that brings together comfort and summer scenery. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet break surrounded by flowers and water, especially families with children.

I’d been concerned by the negative reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. There’s a pretty garden and pond outside, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is good. The place works well for families, even with teenagers: there’s a nice games room, a large indoor playground, trampolines and a pool. Outside, there are two playgrounds, pools and a mini farm. Our room was clean and comfortable.
