Petawawa River Inn and Suites

Petawawa River Inn and suites was spotless, and the staff were great about helping with requests. We stayed two nights, the 29th and 30th of September. There's no continental breakfast, but you can get free morning coffee at the attached store. The Boulevard pub and grill gave us 20% off and a free game of pool. The food was great, and the staff there were friendly. Greco Pizzeria also offered 20% off. Highly recommend the motel and those perks. Booking.com, though, was awful. Its site caused errors I couldn't fix, and there was no real customer support. They ask you for details and then you hear nothing. Worst booking site ever. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Nasty company.

The room itself was clean and had a bar fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, which was great. The location was reasonable too, with plenty of places nearby to do things. But the service I asked for never happened. I checked the room-service box for the next morning and spoke to the cleaning staff, then asked them again before heading out for the day. No towels were replaced, there was no vacuuming, and the bed I mentioned still hadn't been changed. My dog had jumped on it before I could pull up the covers, and I didn't want to sleep on that dirt. It was very disappointing. No elevator, which was annoying but manageable this time. Honestly, I'd have paid more somewhere else for the service I needed and had asked the staff about.

The restaurant had a gorgeous view, our server was attentive and sweet, and the food was delicious. We got a restaurant discount and free pool tables too. The hotel has an old fashioned feel that I loved, but still had what I needed, including a mini kitchen in our big, beautiful, clean room. It cost half what a usual hotel would and was much nicer. Everything was phenomenal. I'd absolutely recommend it and stay again.

For the very low price, this place met my needs and was great value. The room was huge, clean, comfortable, and really quiet, with a fridge, microwave, and coffee. Staff at check-in were nice. The building is a bit dingy, the halls smell a little, the AC is loud, and the shower squeals some when it's running. Still, we were happy with everything, especially given how much cheaper it was than the newer chain hotels nearby. Glad I saved a decent amount by staying here. My 4 stars aren't saying it's a 4-star hotel.
