Prestige Charlevoix chalet Le Huppé

We arrived during COVID and found the chalet filthy. It clearly hadn't been cleaned or disinfected. The kitchen was grimy, stained, and covered in hand and fingerprints. Even the cutlery and cooking tools were dirty, sticky, and marked up. The coffee maker's flint was broken, so we borrowed one from another chalet. That second one still had old coffee stains inside. In the second bedroom where I slept, the pillows smelled awful and had lots of yellow stains. They were disgusting, and seemed like they hadn't been washed in ages. There weren't any hooks in the bathroom for towels or anything else, and the shower rod fell twice when we hung two towels on it. The furniture was in awful shape. The living room sofa didn't match the website photos, it was an old basement sofa. There was dirt everywhere. We also hadn't expected a split-level chalet divided into two units, with poor soundproofing. The only way to get to the hot tub was to climb down a rocky slope beside the building, since it can only be reached from the lower unit. It looks right into that unit's bedroom windows, which was incredibly awkward. It's a shame, because the location is good, but the chalet felt cheap and dirty. There are plenty of more appealing chalets nearby. I took photos, and I'll never come back or recommend this place. During COVID we expected at least basic cleaning, but it felt like we were being taken for a ride.

The HUPPÉ DU MASSIF chalet was beautiful, but our weekend rental for 9 people came with an unwelcome surprise: there was a condo above us, and the neighbors felt much too close. Nobody warned us about that. It felt like false advertising. 🙄

We had a wonderful time at this chalet. It was spotless, had everything we needed, and the view was lovely.
