The beds were comfortable and the room seemed pretty clean, but the hotel feels dated. Parking wasn't convenient, and there weren't enough choices in the restaurant. The TV didn't work either. They put a lifetime diamond on the top, 15th floor. Too expensive for what you get.

The breakfast looked like a good spread, though keep in mind it ends at 9 AM. The restaurant on site was convenient, and the bar and restaurant staff were welcoming and attentive. After a long drive from the States, I found the staff professional and the old-school standards a pleasant surprise. The industrial surroundings could put you off, but inside the Doubletree was clean, fresh, and felt safe. A lot of hotels after COVID have seemed neglected, and this one was well maintained. I've already planned to stay here again on my return trip.

My daughter takes private swim lessons in the hotel's indoor pool. There isn't a locker or hair dryer in the pool area, and the receptionist always refuses to lend us even a basic hair dryer. The receptionist is very rude.

Housekeeping was so understaffed that our room never got cleaned. They'd known for months they were hosting a hockey tournament, so I don't see an excuse for only having time to clean the first five floors of a 13-floor hotel. We also got just two towels for our family of four and had to fetch extra ones for the kids from the pool. The garbage cans were the smallest I've ever seen. More towels and bigger bins would have helped. The restaurant was ridiculously overpriced. People were ordering Uber Eats and eating in the lobby, even taking chairs from the restaurant. On the first day, there was a stain on our blanket. I called twice before someone brought a replacement, but it was sheets instead of a blanket. It took several calls and a conversation with a manager to finally get the right one. I know housekeeping had left for the night, but someone else should have known where blankets were. The fire alarm went off at 11:30 pm on our last night and kept going for about an hour. That wasn't the hotel's fault, but between that and the stained blanket, I expected an apology or some kind of discount. They offered nothing, not even breakfast or an apology.
