We had a great time at our church retreat. The chalets were a relaxing place to stay, and the manager was friendly and went out of their way to meet our needs. We could easily prepare meals with the appliances and cooking utensils in the rooms. Deer and peacocks wandering around the grounds added to the charm. The Wi-Fi in the chalets was pretty poor, though.

We rented a cabin on short notice, and the price was reasonable. It was clean, everything worked, Della was helpful, and we had no issues. The grounds do have a lot of deferred maintenance, but I think the price takes that into account. The cabin cost less than booking two basic motel rooms in town, assuming we could even find adjoining ones. Our usual little cabins by the river were flooded out after 15 years of staying there, so for our budget and the other local options, we’d choose this again.

The cabin was nice, with a huge patio, and the scenic grounds had plenty for everyone to do, especially in the snow. The kids loved playing in it and tobogganing. Our family group had over ten people, including four small children. The kitchen lacked enough cutlery, plates, cups, and some cooking gear, but staff brought replacements when we asked. There were just two bathrooms, so we had some lineups, though it was manageable. A great place to stay.

After ten hours on the road, the jacuzzi tub and private hot tub setup in the little love cabin were exactly what I needed to loosen up. The cabin at the end had gorgeous scenery, vaulted ceilings, a separate shower room, and a kitchen with everything you need. I was near the end of leg one of the save-my-brother-from-Vancouver shenanigans, towing a 30’ cargo trailer with two dogs in the back seat, and we were all exhausted. It was late, but they stayed in the office to check us in and had a wide open spot where I could leave the trailer and take the truck into town for supplies. I liked having the hot tub inside for privacy, and the cabins also give you more audible privacy than a hotel with thin walls, if you catch my drift. I’ve stayed in lots of places in BC, and would absolutely stay here again when I’m nearby.

We booked this place five months ahead for a special family occasion in May 2023, but were heading home in our vehicles just two hours after unpacking. One bedroom had a broken lock, another bathroom was out of order, and the smell of pet urine mixed with Pinesol was overwhelming. We also found bedbugs in more than one bed. We couldn’t leave fast enough. With no backup plan, it was extremely disappointing. The owners clearly don’t care about this property, and I’d never recommend it.
