We came for the Christmas Markets, and could walk to all of them from this hotel in the heart of old Quebec city. La Buche, one of the best restaurants, is right across the street. Parking can be a pain in the old town, but they offered what seemed like a discounted $15/day at a nearby garage at Hotel de Ville, with a card that let us come and go. There was free coffee on a small table in the lobby when we checked out the next morning, too. Our room had its own bathroom, so I can't comment on the shared facilities. The room was worn and dated, but still clean, cozy, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a simple, dated but charming hotel with an amazing location. It's not the Chateau Frontenac, but for the price it's hard to ask for more. We had a great short stay in this magical Christmas city.

Our room was quite small, with a bunk bed and a really tiny washroom. Still, the location in Old Quebec City was fantastic and easy to get around from. The Frontenac Hotel and many tourist sights are within walking distance. The front desk staff were friendly, and we'll consider staying here again when we come back in summer.

The location, right in the middle of old town, is fantastic, and the price was very reasonable for it. My room was clean but worn and very basic, though it did have a private bathroom. Room cleaning is by request. Receptionists were friendly, but our interactions were pretty much limited to bonjour and bonsoir. A receptionist apparently makes coffee for guests when they start work in the morning, but if you leave before 8 AM, you won't know about it. The walls and doors are thin, so you can hear people opening and closing their room doors. Most guests were quiet, though, and the noise wasn't bad.

After we found mold in the bathroom, I asked for a refund. The only option they offered was moving us to another room, which wouldn't have fixed the problem for me. The first time we visited Quebec City, and the hotel completely ruined the experience. I'm going home with bed bug bites all over my face and arms, and I've been coughing because of the mold. Save your money and don't stay here. The staff denied our complaints about the rooms being clean and then tried to make us doubt what we'd seen, saying this was normal. What upset me most was being told guests shouldn't expect a hotel room to be clean. Earlier on the day we arrived, I'd called to ask about early check-in and was told it wasn't possible because they were still cleaning the room.

Cute, affordable, and right in the middle of everything. We had a comfortable second-floor room with air conditioning and a spacious private bathroom, which we booked ahead. The walls were a little thin, but not too bad for a weekend. There was a fridge for food and snacks, plus coffee and a small seating area. The staff were really sweet and helpful. I had a great stay and would definitely come back to this hotel in Quebec.
