Hôtel Le Voyageur de Québec

I stayed for maybe five days, and each day seemed worse. The front desk staff were friendly, the area was good, and I liked having an indoor pool and breakfast. But the room smelled kind of like sweat when you walked in, and there was no real lighting, just lamps. The shampoo was awful on my hair, leaving it so dry I couldn’t brush it. Breakfast was basically boiled eggs, muffins, fruit, and juice, nothing I enjoyed. The pool showers were really cold, and there was so much chlorine that my hair got even more damaged. The walls weren’t soundproof at all, I could hear everything in the neighbors’ room. Housekeeping only brought more towels and shampoo, and didn’t change the sheets unless you stayed more than three days. It was a normal stay that could have been better.

The hotel is old, but that’s part of its charm. We like historic places with some character, and it felt just right for Christmas. My husband, our dog, and I stayed one night, from December 24th to 25th. The staff were welcoming, and check-in was quick. Our room was spacious, with two large, comfortable double beds, a table, a granite-topped bar, several armchairs, lamps, and a TV. The bathroom was clean and tiled, with new plumbing, towels, and everything needed for a shower. There was also a small fridge and coffee maker. The hotel was quiet and very warm, and parking was in the courtyard. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

I was extremely disappointed. There was a noticeable unpleasant smell, and the hygiene in the room was concerning. The staff seemed cold and indifferent to what we needed. For what they charge, the quality just isn’t there, and the value for money is terrible. This is honestly one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I won’t be coming back.

There was noise in the hallway at night, and breakfast was small, tasteless, and very modest. The rooms were clean but very average, with a sink in the hallway. It felt more like a motel than a hotel.
