My flight was canceled because of the weather, and there were no available flights for about three days after my booked departure. When I contacted the hotel, they wouldn't change the dates, offer even a partial refund, or help in any way. They told me I was on my own and would lose the money. This happened on Christmas Day, and there was no sympathy at all. I've never had a hotel be so unwilling to help. Keep this in mind when booking, since if your plans change, you may get no assistance or money back.

The property may look nice, but the customer service I experienced was extremely poor. My son got very sick, so I spent a week trying to reach the hotel about canceling or getting credit for another time. I called five times, and each time there was a different explanation. First the manager was away until Tuesday, then I was told she wouldn't arrive until 1 PM, and after that she was suddenly in a meeting. I was put on hold or promised a return call that never came. I also emailed my concerns and got no reply. What upset me most was how little empathy there was about a sick child. It felt like I was being given the runaround every time. Afterward, I read more reviews and saw that others had described customer service problems too. Hospitality should include responsive service, and based on what happened to me, this hotel doesn't seem to make that a priority. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Once we finally got settled, the apartment itself was lovely. It was spacious, clean, and nicely appointed, and the price gave us much more room than pricier hotels in less convenient areas. Old Quebec is under a 30-minute walk away, with restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The office receptionist was helpful when we called, and the host responded quickly when we needed parking information. Getting there was another story. We made a same-day booking last Thursday, and the online reservation was easy, but the instructions said to pay at reception. Their office was in another apartment and locked, so we called. They answered quickly in English and directed us to pay through an email link to get our entry code. After a long travel day, we were ready for a shower and a nap, but the apartment hadn't been cleaned: used towels were scattered around, bedding was on the floor, and there were garbage and dirty dishes on the counters. It took about an hour on the phone, mostly on hold, before they assigned us another apartment. It was described as a downgrade because it was all they had available. We accepted it, then asked about compensation and were told to email the office. Almost a week later, there was still no reply, not even an acknowledgment, though they did send the invoice. Other reviewers seem to have had similar trouble getting a response. The apartments are nice, but the company didn't seem very concerned about our experience. Parking took some figuring out. We first tried Rue Dorchester instead of busy Boulevard Charest. There was no meter, and we thought parking might be free for an hour, though we weren't sure; we didn't get a ticket while we were there. We later found a space at the Indigo Dorchester lot across from the building. Spaces are limited, but on that weekday people started leaving around 5 pm, presumably after work. It cost $24 for 24 hours from the time we entered. That worked well for our one-night stay, and we left the car there after checkout while we walked around and had lunch. The place is pleasant, but be ready for possible hassles and don't count on much sympathy from the company. If a hotel costs the same, I'd choose that for peace of mind.

The location is a big plus, with local shops, restaurants, and a grocery store nearby, and Old Quebec is about a 30-minute walk. There's a visible unhoused population in the area, which could concern some people, but I've stayed before and felt fine. Les Lofts du Théâtre looked just like the photos. The studio was spacious, clean, and stylish, with a modern bathroom, useful storage, and a mini-kitchenette. A few high-touch spots showed some wear. I'd happily stay again for the comfort, value, and convenient location.

My friend and I spent Christmas here and were really pleased with the location and the amenities. There was plenty of room for four people, maybe even more.
