Quality Inn

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for work travel. I needed some quiet and a reasonable place to sit and work at a computer, but the rooms don’t seem set up for stays longer than a weekend. The lighting and layout were poor, and the bed was the only comfortable seating. When I checked in for a work trip, they put me on the first floor among teenagers on a school trip. They ran and screamed in the halls, threw things, hit the walls, and generally raised hell. The concierge was lovely, but it took three tries to settle things down. I couldn’t move to another room that night, and the noise started again the next morning until the group checked out at 10. I asked to move to the second floor because another large party was due in my hallway the following week. Moving rooms took valuable time away from preparing for work. I’d expect a Quality Inn to place larger groups and families on lower floors and guests needing quiet, such as business travellers, on upper floors. The noise continued after I moved: several children ran and yelled in the hall for over an hour. When I called the concierge, she said nothing could be done because it wasn’t late enough. I guess she assumed everyone keeps the same hours. If the Saturday evening and Sunday morning concierges hadn’t been so accommodating, I’d have rated the hotel one star. Stay somewhere else if you’re travelling for work. This might suit a celebration, vacation, or family reunion where you plan to add to the noise.

We stayed in the new section, where the rooms were clean and efficiently laid out. Our spot in the hotel wasn’t ideal, since the pop and ice machines were right in the hall across from our room. Breakfast had a decent selection, and the eggs and sausage were better than average.

The door lock in our room was broken, so we couldn’t lock it properly. I told the front desk I was there with two children and didn’t feel safe, but they said there were no other rooms and they couldn’t repair it. A room without a working lock is unacceptable. Very disappointing, especially for families.

July 2025. We chose this hotel because it had a room for six. The third bed was a much more comfortable wall bed than the usual sofa bed, and I liked the warm breakfast, extended breakfast hours, and big dining area with plenty of tables and chairs. The shower head was great too. We didn’t use the pool, though I can see how young families would enjoy it.
