Glacier House Resort

The cabin was a nice change for our second night, with more room, better views, and a private hot tub. We really enjoyed having that privacy. Our first night was in the lodge between seasons, and it felt a little odd, almost like we were the only people there. Still, it had everything we needed, and breakfast in the morning was good.

The receptionist made us feel very welcome and even suggested places in town to find swimsuits, since we hadn’t planned a stop between BC and AB. We brought our two dogs and chose a cabin so we wouldn’t disturb other guests. It was spacious, beautiful, very clean, and had no pet smell. There was a microwave, hot plate, fridge, safe, silverware, a fold-out couch, and dog treats. The cabins are well spaced, so the porch hot tub felt wonderfully private, and you could stay in it all night if you wanted. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were clean, and it was super kid-friendly. The mountains were gorgeous, and our family even saw our first bear, which was so exciting. The service was great. I used to be a housekeeper at a high-standard resort, and I’d put this among the best places I’ve stayed in BC. 10/10.

The hotel has potential, but for what we paid, I left disappointed. The room was spacious but didn’t feel cozy, and there were dead bugs in it. The bathtub and the jacuzzi by the pool weren’t clean. Breakfast was standard and nothing special. The pub was the biggest letdown: no alcohol, an unfriendly server, and food that was far too salty. I’d been excited to stay after reading the reviews, so this was a real disappointment. Maybe they’ll address these things.

The views are amazing, and there’s plenty of room for kids to run around the clean, cozy cottages. There’s also a small outdoor play area to keep them busy. The staff were very hospitable, especially Katty at the front desk, who was so considerate. We’ll definitely come back. A great place if you like privacy and beautiful views.
