There are plenty of food choices nearby. A big Asian supermarket across the road has ready-made meals, with fast food places on the other side. There’s also a Japanese ramen restaurant around the block that was amazing, highly recommend it. For an airport hotel and a short stay, convenience and food options matter a lot to me. The shuttle pickup was decent and seemed to come every half hour. There’s a courtesy phone at the pickup area to call the hotel, and you can book a shuttle back to the airport too. The room was comfortable, though a bit dated, and renovations are underway. The beds were especially soft, and I slept well. Breakfast starts early, from 5:30 to 9:30 am, and was quite decent: a make-your-own waffle station, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, toast, bagels, juice, and coffee.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and housekeeping did a good job. One day we went out with the do not disturb sign on the door, and they left us a note saying they hadn’t entered to clean. That was nice and respectful. The room was clean, though a bit dated, and could use some renovations. Breakfast is included each day, nothing fancy but enough to start the morning. The airport shuttle runs both ways, but you need to contact them ahead to book it. We enjoyed our few days at Days Inn. It’s a good location near the airport and Richmond, with nearby shops and food places. There aren’t many hotels in the area with free parking, so that was a bonus for us. In my opinion, it’s a good choice and I’d consider coming back. If you’re driving, be aware of the stop sign by the hotel where you have to cross a busy two-way intersection. In busy periods it can be very hard to get across in either direction if you need to go straight. You may want to go around the back to avoid it.
The room, breakfast, and location were all very satisfactory. Still, the behavior of one staff member left me with one of the worst service experiences of my stay and badly affected my impression of my trip to Canada. I stayed for two nights, from January 8 to January 10, 2025. On the last day, I had booked the airport pickup for 1:00 PM. A polite male staff member had kindly approved late checkout during that process, so we didn’t need luggage storage. It let me enjoy my last day in Canada comfortably, and I returned to the hotel feeling very positive. That changed immediately when I got back. A staff member named ❗️❗️Carolyn❗️❗️ abruptly told me I had to pay for late checkout. I calmly tried to explain the arrangement from the previous day, but she was dismissive and rude, insisted on payment, and wouldn’t listen. At the very least, staff should hear a guest out before demanding an extra charge. The late checkout had been granted when we booked the airport pickup, but the lack of communication among staff made the situation stressful and unpleasant. Carolyn didn’t apologize. Another employee nearby apologized on her behalf, and even other guests who saw what happened said it had been handled inappropriately. In my opinion, this was extremely unprofessional and very poor customer service. I strongly believe more training and service education are needed, and based on this experience, Carolyn doesn’t seem suited to a customer-facing role. A good stay turned into a very negative last memory of my trip. I hope management takes this seriously so other guests don’t go through the same thing.
For an overnight stay, this place is great. The room is big and looks fairly clean, the AC works, and there’s an airport shuttle. The bed and pillow are comfortable enough. Don’t expect extra amenities beyond towels and shampoo and conditioner. Just judge it as a place to sleep for the night.
The airport shuttle was quick, and breakfast had good options and great coffee. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. A decent spot for an overnight trip, and I’ll definitely stay again.
