La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Vancouver Airport

There are lots of restaurants and shopping centers nearby, and the cleaning service was good. The beds felt a little small for two adults, and my only complaints were the lack of a microwave and the very small fridge. Otherwise, things were very good. The continental breakfast had a good range, and we really liked the pool and jacuzzi.

We couldn't find a sit-down restaurant nearby, despite walking around to look. The strip malls all seemed to have restaurant after restaurant serving the same Asian cuisine. Traffic getting in and out was another headache. There wasn't a beer and wine store nearby, and since dispensaries apparently aren't allowed in Richmond, we had to drive to another city for that too. I barely slept and will never stay here again. With the airport a few blocks away, planes flew low overhead all night. The bathroom fan wouldn't turn off, so I eventually unplugged it. Once that noise stopped, I could hear the elevator, water rushing through the room whenever other guests used it, and the toilet running randomly through the night. We could also hear people in adjoining rooms using the toilet and dropping things on the floor, sounds that seemed to travel throughout the hotel. I was supposed to attend a celebration of life today, but I'm so exhausted from the stay that we're leaving as soon as we can.

Every day, housekeeping cleaned the bathroom so well that it looked as if we hadn't used it the night before. They also provide water and coffee at the front desk 24 hours a day, which was very convenient.

The free hot breakfast and WiFi made our stay easier. We picked this hotel for its closeness to the airport and local Richmond spots, and it worked out well. A solid, modern place to stay comfortably before heading out to see more of BC.
