Versante Hotel

After 20 hours of travel, we usually just book somewhere like a Travelodge to sleep, and we’re not big hotel people. Versante was on another level, without costing that much more, so I’d definitely stay again. Our room was artsy and cute, with robes and slippers, and you could tell they’d put thought into the decor. We watched planes coming in from our gorgeous, comfy bed through a whole wall of windows. They were still far enough away that we couldn’t hear them.

For a stop while passing through Vancouver, this worked out great. It’s right by the airport, and the morning shuttle made getting there easy. The room was spacious, very clean, nicely decorated, and the staff helped us out and suggested places to eat nearby. It wasn’t the cheapest stay. The bathroom had a glass door, so the toilet doesn’t have much privacy. We didn’t mind, though I can see that bothering some people. We wanted a room with two beds so we could stay with our friends, but the hotel sounded fully booked that weekend, so we ended up in separate rooms.

We were only there for one night after our flights were cancelled. The rooms were large and beautifully designed, the beds and bedding were very comfortable, and the bath had a nice view. The gym and pool were lovely and had everything you’d need. Dennis at the front desk was super helpful. Eat at Bruno’s, it’s very, very good.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a birthday card and a plate of lovely chocolates in my room. The bathroom was modern and spacious, and I loved the double vanity and tub. They also had nice touches like slippers, robes, and complimentary water to start with. I loved my stay at Versante and would come back for another staycation celebration!
