I just grabbed a coffee and used a clean restroom. I only passed through, so I didn’t see the rooms.

The building may be past its best days, but it’s always clean and the staff are top notch. The owner is one of the kindest, funniest people you’ll meet, and you can count on the folks here for plenty of small-town humor and laughs. Stop in for a Gene special 😉. It’s a great place to have drinks with friends or meet new people, and everyone’s welcome at Simpson Hotel!

I’ve travelled around the world with the Canadian Forces and stayed in plenty of 5-star hotels, but the hospitality here is something the big chain motels don’t have. The owner greeted me and got me settled into a clean room for the night. It’s not a high-end chain hotel, and you share a bathroom and a common TV lounge, but the rooms are clean and warm. Well worth staying!

We had the whole hotel to ourselves since we were the only guests, which was perfect for our birthday ice fishing trip. The place is pet friendly, and the owner loves giving dogs biscuits. It’s quiet and conveniently located near Last Mountain Lake and the bird sanctuary. The restaurant had great food, there were drinks at the bar, and the staff were friendly and fun. Rooms are basic and clean, with a winter ski lodge kind of feel. There’s also a living room and kitchenette available. Gene rocks!
