We slept well in a comfortable bed, and the room was clean and had what we needed. For the price, it was a great deal, and we’d stay again. The old building does mean you can hear the neighbors, though. Its downtown Saint Andrews location is a real plus, with everything within walking distance.

The location was convenient, close to restaurants, a grocery store, a pharmacy, and the whale-watching excursions. The room itself was a letdown. The toilet hadn’t been flushed or cleaned, the bedspread had what looked like smeared whiteout ink stains, and the towels were tattered. There were a couple of newer touches, like a towel warmer and a more modern sink, but the place still felt very dated and not worth the price. We were told coffee would be available in the morning, but there were no pods. The reception desk closes at 6 pm and doesn’t reopen until noon the next day, which wasn’t convenient. The TV was mostly limited to streaming and kept rebooting, so it wasn’t reliable. The website also needs updating. With so many problems, we won’t choose this place again.

For a short stay in St Andrews, this could be a good option. The location and service were great, and the rooms were cute and cozy, with everything you might need, including a smart TV. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could. Unfortunately, there was hair on the sheets, in the shower, and around the sink, and both the towels and sheets were stained. The main area also seemed to be under renovation, which hadn’t been advertised.

I booked two rooms in early March and was really looking forward to the stay. One room hadn’t been cleaned at all when we arrived: the bed was unmade and coffee cups were scattered around. We’d driven for nine hours and got there at 6:30 pm, then had to wait another hour for it to be cleaned. The staff had promised us free honey for the next morning, but we left at 8 am and no one was at the desk to give it to us. I called several times and got no answer. They also didn’t offer any discount on the rooms.
