Fireside Lodge by Bear Country

The kitchen had lots of useful things, the tub was a decent size, and there were plenty of hooks for jackets and snow pants. We had a very good time, and sitting by the fireplace was cozy. It’s a convenient location, and we’d stay here again. A couple of things to keep in mind: the venetian blinds let in light, so bring an eye mask if that bothers you. The walls are a bit thin, so ear plugs could help if you’re sensitive to noise while sleeping. Our unit was beside the pub/restaurant, looking onto the village walk. It was pretty, but got a bit noisy later on the weekend. We were up late anyway, so it was fine for us.

Amazing location, and the apartment is big with a good selection of dishes and an adequate hot tub. But the bed was terrible, the walls were thin, and the blinds were awful. I had a hard time sleeping. The ski locker room seems poorly designed, since the placement makes many racks unusable. For the price, there was a complete lack of effort in the room.

We used the ski lockers, hot tub and parking garage, all of them nice amenities. The bar connected to the lodge was great, too, and the other village restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We stayed at the fireside lodge in an Airb&b for a skit trip over thanksgiving. It was VERY conveniently located for ski-in, ski-out. Would definitely stay again!

After skiing all day, getting good rest matters, and this place wasn’t worth giving that up for the location, even though it’s amazing. The mattresses were hard and uneven, and I struggled to fall asleep. I had to drug myself to sleep. Trying to sleep on my side made my arm go numb. There were no blackout curtains, just cheap blinds that didn’t cover the full width of the windows. Closed either way, they still let in light from the street and the Christmas lights on the trees right beside the window. There was a constant blue light in the room at night, and sunlight woke me earlier than I wanted.
