Heffley Boutique Inn

We had a broken shower from Friday morning, when we discovered it after arriving Thursday night, until we left. The staff said they’d deal with it, but nobody came by 4:00. At the counter we were told someone would come soon; by about 8:00, we learned it couldn’t be fixed and were offered another room. With only one day left, moving all our clothes, food, snowboarding gear and bathroom things seemed pointless, so we declined. When I asked Manfred about a discount on checkout, he said “NO” and just repeated that they’d offered a room change. Very unprofessional and rude. Manfred, who I believe is the owner, was also unhelpful and disrespectful when we arrived. Parking costs $10 outside or $15 underground per day, which felt like a ripoff. The kitchenette was poorly equipped, and the building was stuffy at 25 degrees most of the time. Even with our bedroom thermostat turned down, we had to sleep with the window open. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The 30-day cancellation policy is ridiculous, and there’s a reason the hotel was only half booked.

The price is good, the staff are friendly, and you can’t beat the ski-in, ski-out spot. The rooms are clean, though a bit beat up, and there are enough basics to cook breakfast or lunch. Think small-town European lodge, not full-service hotel. If you want someone carrying your bags and tending to every need, go across the road.

The loft room had loads of space, was very clean, and had a nice view. It’s right in the village with ski-on access. My only real gripe was the pull-out couch, which was extremely poor quality. For a group of four or fewer, though, it’s a fantastic place to stay.

The staff are great and the accommodation is comfortable, but the rooms are just okay. You can’t beat the ski-in, ski-out location, with restaurants downstairs and across the lane and an ice cream shop next door. The sauna and spa information is confusing: the advertising doesn’t mention them, while the inside documents say they’re there, but they aren’t. I’m here for the snow anyway.
