We came with our baby and dog for one night to mark our second wedding anniversary, hoping for a simple, relaxing evening together. Instead, it was the worst hotel night I've had. Even though it was cool outside in mid-September, the room stayed at 35 degrees through the night. There was no AC or fan, so my husband and I slept in separate beds on top of the sheets and barely slept. The washroom was dirty too. The toilet hadn't been cleaned in the bowl or behind it, and the bathtub had grime. The elevator was out, so we had to carry luggage up and down three flights of stairs with a baby and our limping 10-year-old dog. The parking lot was full, leaving us to park half a kilometre away. The lock was broken, and our key only worked about half the time. We'd also requested a travel crib that wasn't in the room when we arrived. They did get it for us, but it felt like all these details had slipped through the cracks. I hate complaining, and one or two of these things might have been forgivable, but all of them together were ridiculous. Three days later, I'm still waiting for the deposit refund. I've messaged them and heard nothing. Save your money and don't go.

I've stayed here twice this year. The rooms were nice, and the staff were really friendly, but getting around by elevator is a nightmare. There's only one, and its programming is worse than Apple Intelligence. Parking can be a pain on some days, though it's better on others.

This aging hotel is right beside the slopes and central lifts, so the location is very convenient. It offers adjoining rooms, allows dogs, and has a solid gear room. The parking works as long as your vehicle is under 6 feet 4 inches tall. Mine fit, but my family's other car with a roof box didn't. Our rooms had a hot plate style stovetop and a larger dorm fridge, which was more than enough for all the cooking we did. Service is limited, if there is any. The main problem here and at much of Sun Peaks is the uneven quality of staff. I suspect it's because guest workers turn over a lot year to year, or maybe even month to month. Some people were amazing, while with others it felt like we had to explain how to open a bottle of wine.

My kids and I enjoy staying here, and I’d recommend it. The service is excellent and the location is great, though the rooms feel very dated and could use a renovation.

Robyn at the front desk was exceptionally attentive and helpful the whole time. The last part of our trip, my mom and I stayed in the 4th-floor, 2-bedroom Clock Tower suite, which had two bathrooms, TVs in both bedrooms, and a spacious balcony looking out over the main square. Waking up to the mountain views was a lovely way to finish the visit. Before that, we each had a simple but comfortable room with a fully equipped kitchen and great water pressure. We had a wonderful stay at Sundance Lodge.
