The Burfield

The clean, modern room had a well-stocked kitchenette with pans and cooking utensils, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and would come back. It was marginally cheaper during our stay, and having the kitchenette made that worthwhile. It is a bit farther from the village, though there's a nearby bus stop. We drove into the village at night for dinner instead. Depending on the timing, you might find a hotel in the village for a similar price, so this place needs to stay competitive.

We were upgraded to the larger 1 bedroom one unit, which was spacious and clean. It's quieter here, away from the main "village," and we even saw some deer one evening. There's no a/c, but opening the windows kept it cool, and I don't think that would be a problem in winter. The underground parkade is a bit tight, though I suspect surface parking will be available once the 2nd apartment building it completed. In winter, one of Sun Peak's chairlifts is literally across the street.

Mandy at the front desk was friendly and very accommodating, and the place was clean. Our family of five had a great two-night stay. The bunks were really comfortable, though an ac/electric fan would be needed in summertime. Walking from the hotel to the village takes about 15-20 mins.

We felt safe with all the coronavirus measures in place, and Mandy, who runs the hotel, was super friendly and helpful. I stayed at the Burfield for a month and had a great time in the clean, modern suites, which had everything you need. The room got super hot, and the window couldn't open all the way. The village is a good 30 minute walk away, so the location isn't the best. Those issues wouldn't matter in Winter, though. I'd definitely stay again and recommend it.
