Homewood Suites by Hilton Toronto Airport Corporate Centre

We felt safe, and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was great, and our full one-bedroom room was cozy and comfortable, though a bit small. The parking lot is tight and small, and it’s shared with another major hotel.

The room was spacious and very nice, and having two TVs was great. But there was a strong jet fuel smell in the hallways each night, something I’ve never encountered at the many airport hotels I’ve used. The front desk said it happens from time to time. Parking was much too limited, and on two nights there wasn’t a spot available. The shared pool for the Hampton and Homewood suites is small and gets crowded. You had to buzz in and out, and the security doors were often tricky to open. Getting ice required swiping your card, while all the hotel’s exterior doors were strangely unlocked. Breakfast area was nice, but the food wasn’t great and there was little variation between days. Some taps were hard to get hot water from, and the shower felt dated with poor pressure. We’ll try somewhere else next time we’re in the area.

The breakfast and location were both great, but this was my third stay here in six months and the lack of follow-through was disappointing. I asked for facial tissues in the morning and nothing happened until I called again that evening. At check-in, I waited 30+ minutes for a luggage trolley, and the front desk offered neither an alternative nor help. I also asked several times for the duty manager to contact me during and after the stay, but never got a call. They offered 25% off a future stay, but that doesn’t really make up for the experience.

We stayed here for ten days in total, split across two visits with my friend. The rooms were nice and clean, the towels and bathroom were good, the TV was nice, and the place seemed clean. What made us uncomfortable both times was the breakfast staff constantly staring at us. It felt like they were counting how many bites people took.
