Novotel Toronto North York

On the second night I got back around 6:30 p.m. and there was no water. Nobody had warned us or followed up, and there was no communication all night. We eventually managed a cold shower in the morning, with no hot water. They offered no compensation, voucher, or credit. They just said we could cancel if we weren't happy, but we had nowhere else to go. Bad customer service, and I paid full price for the wrong room and then no water. I'd stay away. I had booked a king bed but was first given a double. I had to call before they agreed to move me to the king I’d paid for. The view from the second room was very nice.

The location in North York is fantastic, right by lots of food, with direct access to a mall and the metro. Service was good, and the rooms are large and clean with a decent view. Soundproofing is poor, though. You can hear people talking in their rooms from the hallway, even when they speak quietly. The price was okay. A decent hotel, but nothing luxurious.

I appreciated having to use a keycard to activate the elevator, as it felt like an added safety measure. The room was lovely and just right for my stay, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, with no attitude. I had trouble with the pillows, but that’s more of a me problem. I’d absolutely come back.

The location is the strongest point, right beside the North York Centre subway station entrance. The bed was comfortable, the service was good, and the stay was enjoyable. I couldn’t get onto the Wi-Fi because part of the Hotspot page covered the Connect button so I couldn’t click it. Also, the toothpaste package was so hard to tear that I had to use my teeth.
