We were three adults with a baby and brought his bed. The space worked really well for us, and the room and beds were comfortable. The queen bed was against the wall on two sides, so I had to get in first or climb in from the end. A third chair at the table would have been nice. We definitely recommend this motel.

The front desk team were so kind, professional, and attentive, which really helped make the stay better. The room itself was very small and dated, and unfortunately had mosquitoes and gnats inside.

We paid a little over $100 for a month of double membership so my partner and I could use the facilities and shower while living in our van. The price felt high, but I was fine with it since we were paying customers. What made the experience awful was how staff treated us throughout the month. We came in several times a day, and I tried to be considerate because I also clean washrooms at another lodging place and know that can be hard work. That kindness wasn’t returned. One rainy day, while parked in the permitted area at the back, I headed toward the back door. It’s usually left open while staff clean and is only a couple of steps from the washroom. There was no sign saying not to use it. I was already soaked and just trying to avoid more rain, but a woman rudely told me to walk all the way around to the front. She gave no explanation or apology, so I used the front door after that. A week later it was pouring again. I couldn’t see anyone nearby, so I went in through the back, thinking I could get to the washroom quickly without causing an issue. I was putting my things away and getting ready to shower when an older woman with blondish hair stormed into the public washroom, yelled at me never to use that door again, then left before I could respond. It was morning rush hour, and I was unsettled for the rest of the trip. I was glad there weren’t any naked women in there. My partner later used that same door just to leave the washroom. He’d scanned his card before going in, so didn’t think leaving through an open door was a problem. The first woman saw him and yelled at him too. We agreed we’d avoid it from then on, but the next day she spotted him in the back lot, drove over fast, slammed on the brakes, jumped out in his face, and said the manager wanted to speak with him. Then she got back in her vehicle and sped away. He went to the front desk, but nobody was there. We both felt too uncomfortable to return and would rather use outdoor showers than deal with staff who were rude and condescending to us.

Aleah and Sherri at the front desk were wonderful. When a technical problem came up in my room, they arranged to have it fixed. I really appreciated how patient, kind, and professional they were. I’d gladly recommend West Coast motel.

We stayed in the Family Suite, which was clean, tidy, and smelled lovely. It had two Queen beds and one Single bed, enough for five people even though I booked for four. The front desk staff were gracious and helpful, and when we left a few small things behind, they kindly offered to ship them back to us for free. For motel pricing, the quality felt like a 3-star hotel. There’s a gym, swimming pool, sauna, and pretty much everything else you need. I can’t think of anything to complain about, and I’d definitely stay again if I visit Ucluelet.
