The surrounding area was a big part of what made the stay worthwhile. There are hiking and kayaking spots nearby, and the small, quiet town has a farmers' market every Saturday. We enjoyed the included breakfast and dinner too, the food was quite delicious. The pool and hot tub were nice, though on one day the tub wasn't pumping hot water. The place itself was nice, but felt a bit outdated. It seems like a good choice for a quick weekend getaway and I'd be glad I got to experience it once. Renovations could make it much better.

The room really let us down. Our comfort room came with a double-sized whirlpool, but that old-fashioned tub felt completely out of place in the tiny bathroom. The furniture looked cheap and foam-like, and the room felt dated. The location was good, the dining room had beautiful views, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was quite tasty.

We moved from a dreadful room in the main building to a better one in the newer building, but had to pay extra for the switch. The first room was dark and dated, with a loud kitchen exhaust fan right outside the window. The replacement smelled like mold, and the carpet was wet from a leaky shower. I wouldn't recommend the hotel unless it gets a complete renovation. With all those defects, there was no charm to the place.

The food was good, service was quick, and having bikes to take out on the trail was a nice perk. The rooms were okay and everything worked as it should. At the spa, though, there were too many people and it was noisy, so I couldn't really relax. I also may have gotten some kind of rash from it, perhaps from a product they used.
